Nick Collins is in second tenure as an assistant coach at Dublin High school, serving as the Irish Defensive Coordinator. Prior to his return to Dublin Nick Spent two years as the Head Football Coach at Glenn Hills High in Augusta, taking the 0-30 Spartans to the State Playoffs in year one and to their first winning record in ten years.
The Texarkana, Texas native started his coaching career as the Tight Ends coach at Prairie View A&M University in 1996. In the Spring of 1998 he was hired to coach Running Backs at Middle Georgia College where during his three year stint he also coached Defensive Line and served as Special Teams Coordinator. In 2001 Collins took over as Running backs Coach at Jefferson County High School in Louisville, Ga. In 2002 Collins was named the Linebackers coach at Northside High School in Warner Robbins, GA where the Eagles had a two year record of 21-4 including a region title in 2003.
In 2004 Collins Moved to Dublin High School as the Assistant Head Coach, in 2004 and 2005 he coached the Linebackers and 2006 he moved to Wide Receivers. While at Dublin the Irish compiled a three year record of 36-3-1 Winning Region Championships in 2005 and 2006 and The AA State Championship in 2006.
In March of 2007 Collins was named Head Football Coach at Newton High School where he took over a program that was ranked 293 out of 295 AAAAA Schools in Georgia, in three short years he led the program back to the State Playoffs and a top 10 ranking.
In October of 2011 Collins was hired to be the recruiting Coordinator and Wide Receiver Coach at Point University, helping the Sky Hawks to field its Inaugural team.
Collins moved to Upson Lee High School in The Spring of 2013 where he coached the Knights Wide Receivers and then to Griffin High School where he served as Defensive Backs Coach. In 2015 he joined the Staff at Creekside High School as Defensive Coordinator.
Collins is graduate of Prairie View A&M where he received Both a Bachelors degree in Health and Human Performance and Masters in Health Education, he also received a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University. Collins is married, he and his wife Ericka have four children Isaih, Alex, Justin and M’Kaya
